OUR YEAR AT A GLANCE
We have recently launched our schools programme for the current academic year 2018/2019. We are very proud of how many young people each element of our programme has connected with in our first year (see right). Feedback received to date has been extremely positive.
Our aim now is to build our understanding of the mental health issues affecting young people and connect with them in new ways. We plan to act as a voice for young people and provide the necessary resources required.
A key objective for the year ahead is to campaign for a Jigsaw unit in Clare.
We are passionate about what we do and want to make an even greater contribution going forward.
Elevate was founded by John Burke in April 2017. He established the foundation to develop a project he is very passionate about – promoting wellness in young people and providing them with the tools they need to fulfil their potential.
In order to raise the necessary funds for the foundation he has organised and participated in a number of events, the most extensive being Raising the Banner for Youth Wellness – Everest 2017, his successful attempt of summiting Mount Everest which took place between April and May 2017.
In December 2017, John Burke was recognised by the Clare Association, Dublin for his achievement in becoming the first Clare person to climb Mount Everest and for his efforts to promote and provide mental health wellness programmes for young people in Clare. He will be formally awarded his accolade at the Association’s Annual Dinner Dance to be held in the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Naas Road, Dublin on Saturday, 28th April 2018.
